You don't have to be intimidated about writing for your website. Just remember these tips:
1. Keep it short, simple, and to the point.
Web users skim content to see if a web page has content that is relevant to them, or contains the information they are looking for. Make that search easier for them by editing down your sentences and paragraphs to be concise. Additionally, many of your users will be accessing your content via a smartphone, and even short paragraphs on a desktop will look like a novel on a smartphone. Keep it short.
2. Chunk your information.
Chunking refers to grouping content under headings that describe the content contained in the group. Use headings to break up your content into sections. Users skimming your page will look to headings to see if the content is relevant to them. The better you chunk, the easier it is for users to find what they are looking for. So chunk away!
3. Use bullets and numbered lists.
Break up longer paragraphs by bulleting the main points in a bulleted list. If you are describing a process or ordered list, use a numbered list so users can easily see what order to perform tasks in. This is an easy way to break up a blocky paragraph section.
